Are you already thinking about Prom 2011? I know most of you ladies (and some of you fellas!) are still caught up in the summer fun, but school is headed back soon. Whether you’re a junior, about to go to the prom for the first time, or a senior, wanting to really get a stunning dress that will leave a lasting memory on your classmates, we know its somewhere on the brain!

Well, the truth is, it’s never too early to start planning your special day – it is a night to remember, after all! If you start seeing whats out there for the 2011 styles, then you will have a clearer idea of what you are looking for when the time comes to buy – which is only a couple months away! To make the search easier for you, we are going to break down what we KNOW is going to be hot for 2011 – and exactly how to go about getting and planning for what you want on your magical evening.

1. COLOR: Colors come and go, and although you can’t ever truly go wrong with any color, there are definitely some serious trends emerging the the 2011 collections! Last year, purple was clearly the color of choice. From pale pastels through jewel tones and plums, purple was the color that everyone wanted! That hue will be popular again this year, however, we are predicting that Red and Blues are going to prevail! Anything from hot pinks to blood reds are really going to be noticeable and prominent in these collections, and aqua, turquoise, and royal are going to shine in the spotlight. Prints are also going to be running rampant through these collections, so take one of these shades and find a print that really goes wild! 2. SILHOUETTE: This is a difficult one, because the answer is: all silhouettes will be in style! This is a great thing about formal dresses – you can truly go with what flatters you!  Mermaid dresses by Panoply are always sexy, and getting a silky dress with a train is a sure-fire way to be sexy but elegant.  Ballgowns are a great choice if you want that princess perfect style, and in that case, Flirt Prom and Mori Lee are the best lines to look at – these dresses are really incredible.
