Shopping for a Dress for your Event?

It isn’t every day that we are invited to a fabulous get-together. A night filled with dining and dancing and wonderful company isn’t complete without a long glamorous gown and the confidence to rock it. Such an undertaking can seem overwhelming but here at Dress Therapy we have a simple system for accomplishing your goal:

1. Let your fingers do the shopping

The Internet is perfect for getting a feel for the collections that are available during a particular season. Generally designers have two main collections: Spring (Prom/Pageant) and Fall (Homecoming). Lines are usually released in conception: to catalog, and online sites several months before they’re available for purchase. You can look at the styles ahead of most people on both the designer’s main website as well as ours and note any styles that you love. Be sure to write down what you like about each dress: the shape, detailing, etc.

*Keep in mind that styles are designed for one season and once sold out they’re unavailable. Only top sellers are carried over for further production. Be sure to note what year the dress is from and keep in mind that a dress that is even a season old may not be available after its original collection run. Have a few styles in mind that you like*

2. Budget, budget, budget

Like any major purchase you need to take into account what you’re able and willing to spend. Designer gowns are not custom made, but rather to a standard size chart and most gals will need alterations of some sort...

3. The early bird catches the worm

We keep a wide variety of stock in during the high Season (January –May) so you can purchase off the Cart if you find “the one”. Throughout these months we are constantly receiving new gown, almost daily. In the case that you choose a gown that we do not have, custom ordering typically takes a few weeks.
